Duckeye

Duckeye

Biography

Duckeye was set up early 2005 after Jey Malaiperuman and Kate Freeland had worked together creating visuals for live music. They were able to experiment with different techniques, incorporating stop frame animation, digital video and computer graphics in order to discover new ways of creating a moving image. Kate studied sculpture at the Slade and started work as a director, editor and cameraman Jey studied Sonic Arts at Middlesex University and began as a sound and digital media designer. “When we are Duckeye we draw on this variety of skills and ways of creating and discover original and innovative ways of working”.

Transition after transition in a super pleasing and awe-inspiring sequence for Nokia, Duckeye used a selection of ideas – some of them very inventive, for example transforming shapes from three dimensional to two in-camera, in one smooth movement. Paired with this is a very considered, design-led style that has a universal appeal and timelessness.
